Netflix gives us a first look at Henry Cavill as The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia

By now fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher novels know that it is being adapted into a series by Netflix due out in 2019.

Back in September that Superman star, Henry Cavill, would take on the role of Geralt of Rivia. In a tweet yesterday, Netflix showed off the first look at The Man of Steel as the White Wolf.

Okay so the hair needs some work though that just might be the endless hours of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt talking.

Early in October Netflix revealed that Freya Allan would take on the role of Ciri and Yennefer would be played by Anya Chalotra.

While the stars are great, fans of the story of the Witcher should rest easy knowing that there is an even better crew behind the scenes.

The showrunner and executive producer is Lauren Schmidt Hissrich who has worked on Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s The Defenders and Umbrella Academy.

Director Alik Askharov (House of Cards, Game of Thrones) will direct four episodes including the pilot, while Alex Garcia Lopez (Marvel’s Luke Cage) and Charlotte Brändström (Outlander) will direct two episodes each.

The series will comprise eight episodes and is due out in 2019.

While we don’t have a trailer for you we will leave you with some awesome music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
