LG expected to debut rollable OLED TV and foldable phone at CES 2019

We’re nearing the end of 2018, but that hasn’t stopped LG from thinking about its plans for next year, with the company already preparing for CES 2019.

According to some internal documents obtained by Engadget, the South Korean company will once again be focusing on its flexible display tech for the Las Vegas-based conference in January next year.

Instead of having prototypes and concepts, however, LG may indeed have some ready for market devices on show at CES 2019.

More specifically Engadget says that a rollable OLED TV will be present, along with a foldable phone, with both being a part of LG’s Display division.

The more precise details of each device are unknown at this stage, but when it comes to making a splash in 2019, it looks like LG is hoping to get a jump-start on its competition at CES.

With Samsung also said to have a foldable phone in the works for 2019, it should be interesting to see which of the South Korean companies can be first to market, as well as debut the more appealing foldable device.

As for the rollable OLED TV, LG is leading the way in that regard, but it still remains to be seen how consumers will react to the product.

With two months to go until CES 2019 kicks off next year, we shouldn’t have to wait long to see these rumoured offerings.
