Samsung reportedly revealing foldable phone design tomorrow

This could be a banner week for foldable phones, with Samsung reportedly set to reveal their own design at their Developer Conference tomorrow.

According to a report from Reuters, if the South Korean company does indeed debut their plans for a foldable phone, it would be the second smartphone with a flexible display to do so, following Royole’s FlexPai.

The device will not be commercially available just yet though, with Samsung said to be showcasing it to developers in particular to see what kinds of applications they can develop for the unique form factor.

Speaking of which the foldable phone is set to deliver a “completely new concept in terms of design and user experience.” Whether that will be any different from the small tablet design of the FlexPai remains to be seen.

As for other details for the device, it could be branded as the Galaxy F, with the F standing for foldable naturally. Added to this is a rumoured price tag that could start around the $2 000 mark, but Samsung likely will not reveal any pricing information for its foldable phone before it’s ready to be debuted in full sometime next year.

With regard to the tomorrow’s Developer Conference, Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the Galaxy F, or indeed when it will reveal the device, but it will more than likely happen during the keynote address being given by Samsung CEO DJ Koh.

The live stream for said keynote on day one of the conference begins at 20:00 local time tomorrow, so tune in to see if Samsung does indeed reveal the Galaxy F.
