Sony has launched a new compact camera in South Africa just in time for the festive season.
The shooter in question is the RX100 VI Cybershot camera. The compact camera boasts a high-performance 20.1MP Exmor RS 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor for improved light collection and – as a result – less noise in images.
This is paired with the BIONZ X image processing engine which is able to detect faces and eyes more accurately and contributes to faster AF/AE detection.
Speaking of which, Sony says the RX100 VI boasts the speediest auto-focus in its class thanks to 315-point phase-detection AF points. The result is that you can pull focus in just 0.03 seconds.
You can also record 4K video at 24fps.
The camera features 24-70mm and 70-200mm focal lengths and the F2.8 – F4.5 lens lens has built in image stabilisation.
The RX 100 VI will be available at leading South African technology outlets and carries an RRP of R23 999 from November , hough no exact date was stipulated.
If that is slightly too pricey for you the rest of Sony’s RX line up including the RX100 V which is favoured by food photographers is also available. As is the waterproof and shockproof RX0. Pricing for the full RX line up follows below.
