Check out the first teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action The Lion King

With all the fanfare around this weekend’s Black Friday 2018 deals, something rather important may have slipped pass you.

Okay not important, but definitely interesting, with Disney releasing the first teaser trailer for their live-action version of the The Lion King.

We say live-action, but much like the recent remake of The Jungle Book, helmed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, this adaptation features some serious CGI. We’re only going off of the trailer here, but if the rest of the film looks this good, it should be a visual spectacle.

As for the teaser itself, it does not feature any of the voice talent for the The Lion King, which includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, and most importantly James Earl Jones as Mufasa, but it does showcase one of the more iconic moments from the 1994 animated film.

Namely when Rafiki anoints young Simba and lifts him aloft on Pride Rock to greet the rest of the kingdom’s animals.

The description of the trailer states that there will be all-new journeys, so it should be interesting to see what new elements they’ve added.

For now enjoy the teaser trailer below while you wait for those Black Friday orders to get delivered.
