South Africans without an email address can now sign up for black.

Before today having an email address was a requirement when signing up for black. While this seems rather normal for a streaming service, it also meant that a lot of South Africans weren’t able to make use of it.

From today customers can use their mobile number to register for black. Customers using this solution will be sent an OTP to complete the registration process.

“Customers were previously requested to use an email address to sign up for black. This prevented customers who did not have an email address from signing up. We have made the product ubiquitous by introducing OTP verification to make it accessible to everyone,” explains black public relations manager, Precious Nkabinde.

This is good news for anybody who wanted to take up the black Binge Elite deal which is currently available for R89 per month (discounted from R449) until 31st December.

The black Binge Elite offers you international and local movies, series, music, TV shows and documentaries combined with almost 60 linear TV channels PLUS 8 FOX channels PLUS FOX on demand entertainment all bundled together. Cell C customers have the added benefit of having unlimited data to stream content on black until February 2019.

black is available through the official website and on Android via the GET Black app.
