Facebook appears to be experiencing some technical issues.

Earlier this afternoon users were unexpectedly logged out of their accounts and then unable to log back in. The site appears to be functional at the time of writing but reports suggest the site is rather slow.

The extent of the incident is not yet known but we’ve seen reports from European users experiencing the same issue.

A quick look at Down Detector reveals that there are a number of locals experiencing connectivity issues too.

Facebook has not said anything about the brief interruption in endless scrolling but we will update you when we learn more.

The sudden booting from Facebook concerned us here at Hypertext. The reason being that the last time users were forcefully booted out of the social network it was due to the discovery of a breach.

Whether that is the reason users were kicked out this time around remains to be seen.
