Fallout 76 leave you wanting? A new Far Cry game might be up your alley

As the trash fire that is Fallout 76 continues to burn, Ubisoft has teased a new Far Cry game that appears to be set after an apocalypse.

We know this because Ubisoft released a teaser for the new game on Wednesday. Check it out below.

Details are thin on the ground at the moment but the popular opinion is that this game takes place after the events of Far Cry 5.

For those that haven’t played the game SPOILERS AHEAD.

During one of the endings of Far Cry 5, Joseph “The Father” Seed loses his mind (well more than usual at least) and is arrested. That is before a nuclear bomb goes off.

The teaser above looks remarkably like Hope County and talk of “the end” and “flames” has led many to conclude that the next Far Cry game will be set in a time after the world turns to ash.

The question now becomes whether this will be a standalone Far Cry game or something else such as Far Cry Blood Dragon.

Whatever it is we won’t have to wait too long to find out what this game is.

The teaser above points to a worldwide reveal at The Game Awards happening in the wee hours of 7th December.

The awards will be streamed live on YouTube and we’ve embedded the stream at the bottom of this story.

With Fallout 76 being an utter disappointment for many (myself included) perhaps Ubisoft can make Far Cry a better post-apocalyptic adventure than Bethesda could.

Here’s hoping.
