The Demon-Dweller Sword from Black Clover gets 3D printed

Despite their popularity, we see surprisingly few 3D prints from the worlds of anime and manga, but it grows by one today with a weapon from Black Clover.

Maker Adam Ubel of MesserTech is responsible for this scale recreation of the Demon-Dweller Sword. You may remember Ubel from his previous work on Froppy’s goggles pulled from My Hero Academia.

This sword was modelled in both TinkerCad and Microsoft’s 3D Builder over the course of 10 hours – eight for the initial work and a further two hours of touch-ups.

Ubel tells us that he used images from the manga as reference to try and get the proportions perfect, with extra effort being put into the hilt and handle.

Printing took much longer at 53 hours with Simplify3D at around 20% infill, and used up around a kilogram of filament.

This piece was printed out in seven parts which were then joined together with super glue. As with many longer printed weapons we’ve featured in the past, a dowel runs through the length of the blade to give it some added rigidity.

After some sanding, Bondo was applied and followed up by a paint job using Testors enamel paint.

The final product, which you can see in the gallery below, is a sword measuring in at 39.5 inches (100 centimetres).

Those looking to make their own can find the files available for free over on MyMiniFactory.

Make sure you keep checking back there as more prints are coming from Ubel from familiar properties.
