No load shedding for now but risk is high says Eskom

Eskom has declared there will be no load shedding on Monday (10th December).

The news comes after a week of the lights being cut out due to constraints on the power grid.

South Africans received a short break from load shedding on Sunday as well. The power utility said at the weekend that the probability of load shedding stage 2 would be low this week.

“While we are happy that there has been some improvement in generation performance we caution that the power system remains vulnerable and volatile and should plant performance deteriorate significantly, Stage 2 rotational load shedding cannot be ruled out,” Eskom said in a statement.

With that in mind, the threat of load shedding remains present on Monday and South Africans are urged to use electricity sparingly.

Should load shedding return be sure to check your load shedding schedules over here or contact your municipality.
