Showmax series for the kids this holiday season

We recently brought you a feature on five new shows that are first and only available on Showmax, but they all shared the common theme of being very adult orientated.

From the violent Vikings to NSFW shenanigans in The Girlfriend Experience, there wasn’t anything there for the kids to watch.

With the December holidays fast approaching, the little ones are going to be home for longer, meaning more opportunities for them to get bored, and fewer options to keep them entertained, right?

Well, not necessarily. Showmax is adding more than a dozen new fan-favourite shows to their already impressive kids selection in the next two months especially for school holidays, with these and more shows available to watch already, or coming soon. This list is just a sample of the Disney, Marvel, Boomerang and other titles that will be added over the holidays.

  • Pablo season 1
  • Guess How Much I Love You season 1-2
  • Adventure Time season 1-2
  • Ben 10 season 1
  • The Amazing World of Gumball season 1
  • The New Looney Toons
  • Oggy and the Cockroaches
  • Barney & Friends seasons 12-14
  • Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood seasons 1-2
  • Disney Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero season 1
  • Disney’s Doc McStuffins season 4
  • Disney’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers season 1
  • Disney’s Puppy Dog Pals season 1
  • Disney’s Sofia the First season 4
  • Disney’s Star vs the Forces of Evil seasons 1-2
  • LEGO Disney Frozen: Northern Lights season 1
  • Marvel’s Ant-Man season 1
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy season 2
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man season 1
  • Wild Kratts seasons 1-3
  • Wizards of Waverly Place seasons 1-4

Despite launching some time ago, Wizards of Waverly Place is a cult classic that can still be enjoyed today. Kids will get a kick out of seeing a younger Selena Gomez playing wizard-in-training Alex Russo. Fittingly, she gets her own musical numbers in many episodes.

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an epic tale featuring dozens of movies and days worth of watch time, the Marvel cartoons on offer here are easy to jump into at any point with three different sets of characters to watch: Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and, of course, Spider-Man.

Disney offers their selection too with Doc McStuffins being a continually popular choice for pre-schoolers, as is Mickey Mouse and co speeding around in The Roadster Racers. Star vs The Forces of Evil and LEGO Disney Frozen both offer lessons in female empowerment that are simply magic.
