Eskom announces third consecutive day without load shedding

South Africans have enjoyed two days without the lights going out thanks to load shedding and we might be in for a third.

Eskom has this morning announced that it will not implement load shedding Stage 1 on Tuesday 11th December.

“However, the electricity system remains tight and the risk of load shedding still remains high for today should power units fail to return as planned,” Eskom wrote in a power alert.

In related news, the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has today published the dates for Eskom’s multi-year price determination’s public hearings.

These hearings form part of the process through which Eskom’s pricing is determined. The hearings take place from 14th January 2019 and run through until 4th February 2019.

For now we recommend following Eskom over on Twitter for power alerts as and when they happen and should load shedding be declared be sure to check your schedule to find out when the lights will be off in your area.
