We thought he was gone, we thought we had seen the last of him, but we thought wrong.

The legendary (for all the wrong reasons) former chief operations officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, at the SABC is set to make a “historic announcement” later today.

For all intents and purposes that announcement seems to be about Motsoeneng forming a new political party. That said we have the popcorn at the ready for his announcement.

The former SABC head invited press to an event in Milpark later today and we’ve been searching for talk of a live stream since the announcement yesterday.

Ironically, Motsoeneng’s former employer has a stream up on YouTube with the festivities set to commence at 11AM.

For those who have never heard of Motsoeneng, his biggest claim to fame (aside from mismanagement and fraud at the SABC) was the institution of a 90 percent local music quota for SABC radio stations.

The man even had a song made about the decision that was put on regular rotation on local radio.
