LEGO Overwatch sets are now available in South Africa

After a partnership between LEGO and Blizzard was announced back in May 2018, we finally have the first wave of Overwatch sets reaching people around the world, with South Africa not being left out.

Right now the first wave of this new theme contains six sets but, unfortunately, you will not be able to walk into any toy store to buy them. These products are exclusive to the only official LEGO store located in Sandton City.

Thankfully these are offered online with shipping available to most of the country. You can find links to each set as well as their prices below, or you can visit the splash page.

In terms of localised pricing we’re seeing quite a high markup here when compared to US RRP, buut a reasonable increase for our smaller market when looking at European pricing. For example, Bastion – our favourite set here – goes for £55 (~R976) / $50 (~R695) / €60 (~R954) in other parts of the world.

To make up a bit for the increased price we’ve come to expect in South Africa, you can sign up for the loyalty programme available here which awards an effective 5% cashback after you’ve spent a whopping R5 000. This nets you a R250 voucher or an exclusive set which cannot be bought outright.

Finally, there’s sign of set 75987: Omnic Bastion, which remains an exclusive which can only be bought directly from Blizzard’s online store in the US. We were hoping that there would be some way too get it locally, but privately importing it remains your only option.
