Canon has announced a new printer – the PIXMA TS704.
What makes this particular printer noteworthy is the fact that it’s the smallest five-ink single function model that Canon has produced to date.
To that end it weighs 5.4kg sans ink and paper, and measures 37.2 X 36.5 X 15.8 centimetres.
Along with being diminutive in terms of dimensions, the PIXMA TS704 is also smart, thanks to compatibility with digital assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home. This smart functionality is not solely used for printing documents or issuing instructions, but will also give users important notifications about the printer.
As for its printing capabilities, the PIXMA TS704 can handle paper as small as 8.89 X 8.89 centimetres and as large as A4. It also has a 350 sheet capacity, which should prove more than large enough for those running a small business or aiming to use this new printer in their home office setup.
In terms of print quality the PIXMA TS704 can produce up to 4 800 X 1 200 dpi prints and has an eight second and 10 second first page print time for black/white and colour respectively.
It also features a full dot LCD screen for scrolling through different modes, settings and options.
The PIXMA TS704 is headed to South Africa and will be available to purchase in March of this year, but Canon has not noted what the recommended price of this printer will be.
