The all new Acer Swift 7 lands in SA this July

With CES 2019 currently on the go in Las Vegas this week we’ve already been treated to a number of new notebook releases.

Adding to that pile is Acer with its new Swift 7 notebook. As with past iterations of this notebook the Swift 7 for 2019 is thin and light, incredibly light to be precise. The 14inch notebook weighs in at just 890 grams.

The notebook boasts a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio and measures in at just 9.95mm.

“The Acer Swift 7 strikes a balance between art and technology, and in doing so pushes ultra-portable PC design to new territories,” marketing manager for Acer Africa, Belinda Marais said in a statement.

Inside the more compact Swift 7 is an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8500Y processor which paired with up to 16GB of RAM. In terms of storage there will be a choice between a 256GB PCI-e SSD and a 5112GB PCI-e SSD.

There is no dedicated GPU but given the tiny dimensions of this notebook, we weren’t really expecting one.

The 14inch touch display features a 100 percent sRGB colour gamut and it is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for added durability.

Acer claims the Swift 7 will boast a battery life of 10 hours.

The Swift 7 will also feature two USB Type-C ports, a DisplayPort 1.2 port as well as WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity.

The Acer Swift 7 will be available in South Africa from July of this year and pricing will start at R24 999.
