Teaser for Conviction: An Anthem Story released, full video out tomorrow

Yesterday we learned that Neill Blomkamp and Oats Studios were working on something for Anthem, and now we have confirmation that it’s a live action short film set many years before the game takes place.

Conviction: An Anthem Story is the name of the project and it comes with a short tagline: “From Neill Blomkamp, Oats Studios and BioWare comes a live-action story of survival set in the world of Anthem, decades before the events of the game.”

Oats Studios made a name for itself releasing incredibly high quality sci-fi films on YouTube, and that’s where much of this news comes from. If you’re subscribed to their channel, Conviction is already uploaded and ready to be shown to the public using the platform’s premiere function.

It’s scheduled to go live on 14th February, 17:30 local time. We’re not sure why they chose Valentine’s Day for this, as we imagine many people will be out of the house around that time.

Regardless, you can sit on the page and speak to others waiting for the event. At the time of writing, just under a thousand people are active there, and we can only imagine that number will grow as we get closer to the premiere.

Those expecting a feature which they can sit down to watch with some popcorn are going to be disappointed, as the video is just three minutes and 46 seconds long. Hopefully it’s just the start of this partnership and we’ll see more content in the future.

If you just can’t wait to see more of this before tomorrow, an even shorter teaser has been released and can be viewed below.

In addition to this, a page on the EA site has been created explaining a bit about how the project came it be, and it seems to all start with Blomkamp stating that the game “looks so cool” on Twitter back in 2017.
