Get your underwhelming Nintendo Direct right here

After months of waiting and many rumours, we finally have a new Nintendo Direct and it was absolutely packed with new announcements on top of updates on games we already know about, though the overall package didn’t feel too exciting.

The biggest pieces of news here are undoubtedly what was chosen to bookend the show: Super Mario Maker 2 right at the beginning and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening at the end.

The first Super Mario Maker was absolutely beloved and snowballed into a game of creating and beating the most ridiculous levels. Masochists and sadists alike can look forward to doing that all again when the new game releases in June of this year.

The Zelda remake is set to come out at some point this year and has some gorgeous new artwork to go along with it.

While we’re excited for some of the other announcements here – especially the Daemon X Machina demo – much of this show felt like filler. We’re sure many people are excited about the ports, remasters and smaller games, it was overall a bit underwhelming.

Oh, and Tetris 99 looks like battle royale through Tetris. We have nothing to add to that statement, the world has become so ridiculous nothing phases us anymore.

If you don’t have time to watch the full show, embedded below, you can watch the individual trailers in this playlist.

Make sure to also check out the video description as it has timestamps for all the different segments.
