Team Cherry reveals the Hollow Knight sequel Silksong for Valentine’s Day

A few days ago Hollow Knight developer Team Cherry tweeted out the fact that they’d be sharing “Hornet’s new adventure” today. While many speculated that this would be DLC or an expansion focused on the character, it is instead a sequel subtitled Silksong.

As revealed in the trailer embedded below, and the provided description of the title, Silksong is an entirely new game with more aerial combat and a plethora of new characters and, environments, and more. The trailer quotes “150 new enemies”, so we assume some old foes from the first game will return.

Those who’d like to learn more about the game can check out the new dedicated site which features a bit more written information about the main points shown in the trailer. Scroll further down and you can also listen to a short snipped of the orchestral score.

Team Cherry also links to a blog post of the game (here), but we encounter a 500 inteernal server error when we try to access it.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on the PC (including Linux and Mac) and the Nintendo Switch, but no date has been provided as of yet.

Those worried about any exclusivity problems after the recent Metro Exodus scandal will be happy to see logos for not just Steam, but also GOG and the Humble Store meaning it should hit all those marketplaces when it launches.
