Samsung Wearables app leaks new range of devices ahead of launch

Another day, another leak, and this time round it’s Samsung itself which is the main culprit.

Or rather the company’s Wearable app mistakenly leaked an upcoming lineup of devices that Samsung is expected to reveal during the Galaxy S10 launch event next week.

Naturally the leaked information has since been removed from the app, but not before a few screenshots were snapped by the likes of The Verge.

While we don’t know the specifications for each device, which totals three at this stage, we can decipher which target market each will be aimed at.

We’ve already spotted one of the devices in the form of the Galaxy Buds, which were also leaked last week thanks to some “misplaced” promo images. What makes these offerings quite interesting from other wireless earphones, is the rumour that they’ll charge via a user’s Galaxy S10 device, akin to Huawei’s reverse charging on the Mate 20 Pro.

As for the other wearables, it looks like we’re getting a new smartwatch in the form of the Galaxy Watch Active. It will sport a 40mm wide watch face according to the leaked app info, but apart from that doesn’t seem to feature anything radical as far as smartwatches go.

There’ll also be a fitness band with the Galaxy Fit and Fit e surfacing. Both models resemble the Gear fitness bands that Samsung has released in the past, but it’s unknown what the distinction between the regular and e variants will be.

With Samsung’s Galaxy S10 leaked for the most part already, there isn’t much left to the imagination when it comes to next week’s Galaxy Unpacked event. As such the company’s foldable phone remains the only real mystery at this stage, but all will be revealed on 20th February.
