The Razer Game Store will close at the end of February

Razer has announced that it will be closing its store front for games come the end of the month.

The news comes just a year after Razer opened the store in April 2018.

We should point out that, unlike the Epic Games Store or the Discord Game Store, the Razer store operates in a similar way to others such as Humble Bundle in that you would purchase a game for activation on Steam, Uplay or similar launchers.

“We regret to announce that Razer Game Store (gamestore.razer.com) will cease operations on February 28, 2019 at 0100hrs Pacific Time as part of the company’s realignment plans,” the company wrote in an update on the website.

“It has been a privilege for us to recommend and deliver great digital game deals to you. We have been extremely fortunate to have you as part of our awesome community. Thank you for the support and making all this possible.”

Razer has said that it will continue to honour pre-orders made via the store front but the store will be shut down from 28th February.

This translates into: if you have games which you have not yet claimed via the Razer Game Store, claim them before the end of the month.

Razer has said that customers who don’t claim games before that deadline can contact customer support (gamestore.en@razer.com, gamestore.fr@razer.com and gamestore.de@razer.com) once the store closes.

With that having been said it’s probably best to just log in to the site right now and claim your games and save yourself the headache.

Razer has said it will continue to operate Razer Gold, its virtual credit system.
