Huawei to launch P30 series in Paris on 26th March

Huawei just dropped a teaser video on Twitter announcing that it will be launching its new P30 series of smartphones at an event in Paris on 26th March.

The Chinese manufacturer adopted a similar strategy last year for the P20 Pro, opting to skip any reveal at Mobile World Congress and instead have a standalone event designed to place all the focus on its new flagship device.

It appears as if that strategy worked, with the P20 Pro being one of the better received Huawei flagship phones of 2018.

Whether the P30 series will share the same fate remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Huawei views standalone events to be a better move than unveiling flagship devices alongside other competitors, as it’s done in the past.

As such, it begs the question as to what Huawei will be debuting at MWC 19 next week, with rumours swirling about a foldable phone.

If this 26th March-dated event is when the world will first see the new P30 series, MWC 19 could rather be focused more on the 5G side of things, and what that level of connectivity will bring to devices.

With Samsung also hosting an event for its Galaxy S10 separate from MWC 19, on 20th February, it should be interesting to see which of the two will get the better reception from industry analysts and consumers alike.
