SA’s Black Industrialist Programme showcased in the US

Earlier this week the Deputy of Trade and Industry, Bulelani Magwanishe, was in US to present South Africa’s Black Industrialist Programme at the 22nd Annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit in New York.

According to the Minister, the programme is one of government’s instruments to encourage inclusive growth across all spectrums, and also actively engage partnerships that empower black entities.

“Our Black Industrialist Programme is deliberate in the advocacy of black participation in the mainstream economy, Through this the Black Industrialists incentive supports companies pursuing productive sectors of the economy, said Magwanishe to SA News.

The summit was a four-day long event that was held under the theme “400 Years Later: Closing the Gap, Expanding Opportunity”. During his presentation, the Minister highlighted the trade and investment opportunities in South Africa as well as the instruments to facilitate investments.

“Invest SA, a one-stop shop service, is geared towards providing investors with service to fast-track projects, further assisting them with information, facilitation and aftercare. Thus, through the One Stop Shop, government aims to reduce red tape in areas concerning business registration, taxation, licences, visa and permit applications and other applicable services,” added the Minister.

South Africa will meet with the United States (US) international trade mission in August.
