Arrow will draw his final bowstring in season eight

Whether it’s because of curiousity, or based on the fact that we’ve been following it since it started, we quite enjoy watching Arrow.

The CW show that set off a salvo of DC inspired TV including The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Super Girl will reach its conclusion in season eight of the show.

“This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind,” said the series’ showrunner Beth Schwartz and executive producers Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Actor Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen in Arrow, also announced the end of the show during a rather emotional Facebook livestream.

As Amell points out, season eight will only comprise 10 episodes which is rather short for a season of the show.

The news saddens us because Arrow – while not the greatest TV around – continues to be a really great watch. The stories are engaging and the characters are really fun to watch.

If you have never watched Arrow or indeed any of the shows that occupy The CW’s Arrowverse we highly recommend giving them a watch. Unlike DC’s films these TV shows have a chance to explore each character, their motivations and how they grow or fall.

We’re sad to hear about the end of Arrow but the great thing is that we can watch it over and over again.
