Visa launches first global competition focused on celebrating female entrepreneurs

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Visa launched its first international female-focused initiative, the Visa Everywhere Initiative: Woman’s Global Edition.

The competition invites women around the world to tackle FinTech and social challenges for a chance to win $100 000.

Visa added that the competition has two challenges, and the finals will be held during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France on 7th June 2019.

“Women entrepreneurship is on the rise and Visa is committed to inspire more women to break barriers through platforms like Visa Everywhere Initiative,” said chief marketing and communications officer at Visa, Lynne Biggar.

To participate, companies with at least one female founder are invited to submit solutions that tackle challenges facing the FinTech and social impact landscapes today through one of the following innovative briefs:

Challenge 1 – (FinTech) – Leveraging your company’s unique capabilities, how could your solution help transform consumer, payments and/or commercial experiences locally, regionally or globally?

Challenge 2 – (Social Impact) – How can women entrepreneurs around the world drive social impact by supporting sustainable and equitable livelihoods and strengthening local/regional economies?

All participants will be divided into six regions, with the competition already open for submissions and closing on 14th April.
