Music uploaded to Myspace between 2003 and 2015 has disappeared

Before Facebook, Myspace was the social media platform to be on.

The site has faded from memory over the years though a few years back it was thrust back into the limelight following a data breach.

Now Myspace is once again in the news and once again it’s for all the wrong reasons.

The website appears to have lost all music, videos and photos uploaded to the social platform between 2003 and 2015.

For those wondering that amounts to over 50 million songs.

“As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos, and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from Myspace,” the social platform said in a statement.

While Myspace only recently made the declaration, Reddit user BlueRajasmyk2 says that music from 2015 and earlier stopped working roughly a year ago.

“About a year ago, all music on MySpace from 2015 and older stopped working. At first MySpace said they were working on the issue, but they eventually admitted they lost all the data,” the Redditor said in a post.

A report by Sky News reveals that as many as 14 million artists are affected by this data loss.
