Tuesday marks a fourth day of Stage 4 loadshedding

South Africa will once again be gripped by loadshedding today as Eskom’s woes continue.

At the weekend Eskom lost supply from its Cahorra Bassa plant in Mozambique prompting the utility to plunge South Africa into Stage 4 loadshedding.

Stage 4 continues today as Eskom’s maintenance teams work to restore generating capacity to the strained system.

Loadshedding at Stage 4 will kick off at 09:00 and run through until 23:00. This comes after Eskom conducted Stage 2 loadshedding throughout the night following Stage 4 loadshedding on Monday.

Later today chairman of the Eskom board, Jabu Mabuza, and minister of public enterprises, Pravin Gordhan, will address the media about Eskom and the current electricity supply problems. Whether there will be good news for locals remains to be seen.

While we wait for news about the electricity locals should check their loadshedding schedules and keep an eye on Eskom’s social media channels (Twitter, Facebook) for updates to the situation.
