Gauteng schools get donation of 160 notebooks from AppCentrix

Earlier this week AppCentrix donated 160 notebooks to Gauteng schools as part of its socio-economic development programme, to support critical skillsets that the government plans to grow in order to support its fourth industrial revolution agenda.

The company says Tembisa West Secondary School was one of the beneficiaries to receive 20 laptops.

“When I was called and told we would be on the receiving end of this donation, I requested a confirmation letter to show that we were indeed so fortunate, the donation would improve learners ability to access technology and generally make teaching easier in the school,” said the principal of Tembisa West Secondary School, Mr R Seleho.

AppCentrix added that it hoped the newly installed infrastructure in the schools would help to produce data analysts and scientists in the next decade. The company also said it would employ 12 interns from the community for a year-long learnership at the organisation.

“Through this project we are confident that boosting access to technology will motivate the learner at schools to excel,” noted director of AppCentrix, Krabo Tamela.
