Huawei P30 leaks appear on Huawei’s website

A new smartphone announcement is around the corner which means that it’s about time for some leaks.

The smartphone in question this time around is the Huawei P30 and the manufacturer seemingly leaked information about the handset on its own website.

Serial leaker, Evan Blass spotted a new page on Huawei’s website which invites folks to a launch event in Singapore.

One clever Blass follower archived the webpage for you to check out for yourself.

The invitation confirms a few rumours about the P30 but the material focuses on the camera inside the smartphone.

From what we can see we can expect a 40MP main camera with Huawei SuperSpectrum Sensor, a periscope telephoto lens, Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens and something called the Huawei TOF camera.

For those keeping score that brings the camera count on the P30 to four though this only seems to be the case for the P30 Pro. The base P30 might have fewer cameras or fewer features, but we’ll have to wait for more information regarding that.

Another noteworthy feature on the P30 Pro is 10X hybrid zoom.

“Together with the super 40MP main camera and optical image stabilizer, you can bring the moon right before your eyes,” Huawei wrote.

How well this zoom will perform, especially in respect of moon photography remains to be seen.

Huawei also talks up the P30 cameras’ night-time shooting prowess as well as a new feature called Huawei Dual-View Video. This feature seems to allow users to switch between the two main cameras at the back of the handset while filming.

We should point out that there is very little info about the feature from the leaked page.

Unfortunately there is no information about the P30’s internals including how big the battery will be so we’re going to have to wait until the 26th March announcement event for more fine-grained information about the Huawei P30 series.
