Iron Man VR is the next PlayStation exclusive Marvel game

After years of fans begging for another Iron Man game a finger on the monkey’s paw curls up as Marvel announces Iron Man VR – a virtual reality title exclusively for PlayStation 4 and its VR headset.

This announcement comes with a very short trailer (embedded below) showing some version of Tony Stark attacked on a flight before suiting up and repulsor blasting his way out of the situation.

Using the PlayStation Move controllers players get to use a repulsor in each hand and the UI shows that the chest unibeam is also an option.

To us it seems like this game is a rails shooter, but with very little official word on what exactly the game entails, that’s going to be an educated guess for the time being.

The trailer ends with a link to the official site for the game which reveals a tiny bit more about the title: “Face off against Iron Man’s greatest foes in high stakes, action-packed battles,” it reads, “Upgrade tech in Tony Stark’s garage to customize Iron Man’s sleek suit and awesome abilities.”

Hopefully this means that we’ll get to poke around the Hall of Armor in VR, because that excites us more than the gameplay that has been revealed.

Looking around a superheroe’s base in PlayStation VR is something we already got to experience with Batman in Arkham VR back in 2016. We sincerly hope that this is more of a game and less of an experience like Arkham VR, which only took around an hour to complete.

This game is being developed by Camouflaj whose only other title seems to be République. Iron Man VR will release some time in 2019.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that this is yet another Marvel game exclusive to the PS4 after 2018’s Spider-Man. We’re not exactly sure what the deal is between Marvel and Sony that is making this happen, but we do know it’s years since we heard anything about The Avengers Project game being developed by Crystal Dynamics. Hopefully that won’t be an exclusive once more of it is shown.
