Earlier today Huawei unveiled its latest flagship phone – the Huawei P30 Pro.
The new device from the Chinese firm is expected to land locally in early April, and when it does, the immediate comparison will be with one of the other recently released Android flagship phones – the Samsung Galaxy S10+.
We’ve been highly impressed with Samsung’s phone, with it ticking virtually every box required of a premium mobile device.
With that in mind, how do the two compare to one another, especially given the highly specced components they feature?
Well we can only truly answer that question once we’ve reviewed the P30 Pro, but in the interim we can still compare both devices on paper.
To that end we’ll be looking at a few key elements – display, cameras, processor, RAM, storage, battery.
Scroll down further to see how the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10+ stack up against each other.
Smartphones | Huawei P30 Pro | Samsung Galaxy S10+ |
Display | 6.47″ (2 340 X 1 080) | 6.47 (3 040 X 1 440) |
Cameras | Quad lens (40MP wide, 20MP ultra-wide, 8MP telephoto, ToF camera) | Triple lens (16MP ultra-wide, 12MP wide, 12MP telephoto) |
Processor | Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 (7 nanometer) | Octa-core Exynos 9820 (8 nanometer) |
RAM | 6GB or 8GB | 8GB or 12GB |
Storage | 128GB, 256GB or 512GB | 128GB, 512GB, 1TB |
Battery | 4 200mAh | 4 100mAh |
On paper it’s nearly impossible to split the two devices. The Galaxy S10+ has the edge in terms of display, RAM and onboard storage, whereas the P30 Pro has the better camera setup, chipset and bigger battery.
That said the difference in every category is so small that the truly fine margins will determine which of these devices is the best option.
Once we review the P30 Pro in full, we’ll have a better idea as to what’s the best Android flagship phone of 2019 so far.
