After a weekend spent eating pizza and playing games we can conclusively state that there is no better pairing.

Local pizza maker Debonairs Pizza appears to agree with our thorough research as this morning it has announced its continued support of local esports.

You might recall Debonairs entered into a partnership with White Rabbit Gaming and Sinister 5 last year. Those partnerships appears to have been fruitful as the franchise has announced a newly minted partnership with Goliath Gaming and Ekasi Esports.

“Whether you’re a casual gamer or want to play competitively, whether you play at home or in a professional team, we wanted to add value to gamers everywhere with tournaments, content and of course the convenience of delicious Debonairs Pizza, so you don’t have to stop gaming for even a second,” said marketing executive at Debonairs Pizza, Toni Joubert, in a statement.

In addition to fueling the gamers from the aforementioned teams, Debonairs Pizza will also be sponsoring ACGL tournaments where R10 000 in monthly prizes are up for grabs.

This is the second year Debonairs Pizza is getting involved with local esports and we’re keen to see what else the firm has planned. Last year it hosted casual tournaments and sponsored prizes for mobile gaming.

Will we see a full tournament sponsored by Debonairs? We can’t say but we think it would be rather cool.
