Another Mega Man X 3D print, maybe the most detailed yet

Back in May of 2017 we featured a 3D print of Mega Man as the character appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. 4, but today we have something a bit different.

This version is far more detailed than anything we’ve seen before and was created by maker Hung Tu.

Tu tells us that this version was sculpted in ZBrush as a side project for a friend and intended to make it posable with functional joints, but instead decided to make something more static and refined.

Using reference images from Google some added flair from Tu was incorporated to make something unique as it was worked on for between one and three hours every day for two months.

In total the modelling time came to around 65 hours with the intent here to make the cleanest print possible.

After slicing the model in Cura printing took less time at around 20 hours with a layer height of 0.11 millimetres.

If you’d like to make your own version of this project – and maybe even add in the joints that were intended for it – you can download the free files which are available over on MyMiniFactory and Thingiverse.

Those looking for more designs from the series, or even something to store this one in, should see the printed capsule from last year.
