Masifunde Training Centre rebranded as Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences

Earlier this week the Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences (GIFS) was launched at Zulu Nyala Country Manor in Johannesburg. The institution is a rebrand of the Masifunde Training Centre (MTC), and will continue to provide financial services education.

According to IOL News, GIFS has expanded its corporate offices to Durban, Sandton and Durbanville, with the company wanting to create the next generation of trailblazers, ground breaking and marketing leaders within the financial industry.

“The Graduate Institution of Financial Sciences continues with MTC’s deep commitment to spearheading sustainable, positive change in South Africa by mobilising the power of education to bring about socio-economic advancement,” said chief executive of GIFS, Kershen Pillay.

The publication adds that GIFS provides new offerings of accredited and non-accredited programmes, as well as international exchange programmes between South Africa and the Netherlands.

“This is embodied in the GIFS mission to build a better Africa for others to inherit. We are wholeheartedly devoted to using education as a tool to tackle unemployment and poverty in the continent,” noted Pillay.

The institution added that it wants to generate awareness of the financial services sector, as well as attract passionate role players, and also tap into the skills and expertise of its database of MTC alumni that comprises some of the most progressive minds in South African banking.
