US carrier says Galaxy Note 10 will support 5G

The past few weeks of mobile news have been dominated by the fact that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold has suffered a few screen quality issues ahead of its launch, but now another device from the South Korean manufacturer has come into the spotlight – the Galaxy Note 10.

To this end US carrier Verizon has revealed some details about the device, although unconfirmed by Samsung, with the most significant piece of news being that it will support 5G.

While that may not seem like anything groundbreaking, especially as Samsung already debuted a 5G capable version of the Galaxy S10 earlier this year, this particular model appears to be the only flavour that Samsung is working on for the Note 10.

As such consumers won’t be able to pick and choose between different iterations of the device, which may not be a bad thing.

This as the Galaxy S10 5G is not currently slated for arrival in South Africa. By the time that Samsung is predicted to unveil the Note 10, sometime in September or October this year, we should hopefully have a few local carriers that will have their 5G networks up and running.

With Samsung needing to win back a bit of consumer confidence following the Galaxy Fold’s recent woes, hopefully 5G isn’t the only new feature that the company has planned for the Note 10.
