F1 2019 will reignite the rivalry between Prost and Senna

The time has come for the next iteration of the F1 games to be announced and Codemasters has not disappointed.

F1 2019 (what did you expect it to be called?) will actually launch with two editions – Anniversary and Legends.

The Legends edition of the game will allow players to take control of Alain Prost or Aryton Senna in their Ferrari and McLaren race cars respectively.

Players will be able to take part in eight race challenges and will also receive exclusive Senna and Prost themed liveries for multiplayer.

The anniversary edition is being launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Codemasters making these games. As such players will be given access to the 2010 Ferrari F10 and the McLaren MP4-25. These cars will be included in the Legends edition and will be available for purchase at a later date.

In addition to all of this, players will also be able to take part in the Formula 2 championship. As the actual 2019 F1 season sees two newcomers in the form of George Russell and Lando Norris who cut their teeth in F2, this makes a bit of sense.

Players will be able to take part in the F2 2018 season before progressing to the F1 2019 season in game.

F1 2019 is due out on 28th June on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC and pre-orders are already available at some international retailers but none for SA just yet.

You can check out the reveal trailer for the game below.

As always, we’re excited for a new F1 game given how magnificent the previous games have been.
