Hopoo Games release roadmap for Risk of Rain 2

While the media focus was definitely on Avengers: Endgame and the latest episode of Game of Thrones over the weekend, some big news was released for Risk of Rain 2.

The popular roguelike sequel is in Early Access right now after launching out of nowhere at the end of March.

In the beginning of April developers Hopoo Games shared their thoughts on the first few weeks of Early Access and promised that a roadmap would come soon to let the community know what to expect in the coming months as it inches towards a 1.0 release.

This roadmap (embedded below), along with some other information, have been given out in a Steam update.

The content coming for June has been outlined before they do the irritating thing of breaking up the remaining new stuff according to the US seasons. Spring 2020 (between late March and late June of next year) is when we should see the game released.

Along with this roadmap, the update speaks of official localisation into other languages coming soon, fixes to crashes and performance, and balance tweaks.

If you’re on the fence about picking up Risk of Rain 2 before it’s completed, the game was flooded with positive reviews at launch and is currently sitting with an “Overwhelmingly Positive” score on Steam. At the time of writing 95% of the some fourteen thousand reviews are positive.

One of us here at the office jumped on the title while it was still offering a “buy one get one free” offer and didn’t regret the choice.
