Here’s Mortal Kombat 11 on the Nintendo Switch

We’ve known that Mortal Kombat 11 was coming to the Nintendo switch since it was revealed, but now we finally have a peak at how this port will look thanks to a new trailer.

As expected the game doesn’t look as sharp as it did in other trailers, but everyone expected some downgrades to run on the Switch’s lesser hardware.

If you’re one to not take promotional videos on their word, this game was shown off at PAX East. While no footage was allowed to be captured at that event, some outlets were left impressed with the quality of the port. A big positive here is an apparent 60 FPS in handheld mode.

The end of the trailer also shows off the Switch boxart for the game which is, surprisingly, not accurate. With less than a week before launch some boxes have already found their way to shelves where people have found and shared them.

The difference between the render and the real box is a small warning in the bottom left corner that the cart inside still requires a large download to get everything working. According to that physical box, a whopping 20 gigabytes will need to be downloaded, a big ask for a console that only comes with 32 gigabytes of internal storage, making this game another which require increasingly larger SD cards.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on the Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 23rd April.
