UCT opens undergraduate admissions for 2020 academic year

With the second term of the academic school year just beginning, the University of Cape Town (UCT) has announced that it has opened up for applications to study at the institution for various undergraduate programmes for the 2020 academic year.

According to IOL News, the institution has committed significant funds for the financial aid packages to support needy students and has details of outside organisations that also provide financial assistance.

UCT also has a comprehensive financial assistance programme that caters for students whose household income does not exceed R600 000, the publication adds.

“Prospective students are encouraged to view the wide array of programmes on offer and relevant requirements in the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes available on UCT website,” said director of admissions at UCT, Carl Herman.

The institution added that it believes no eligible student should be denied the opportunity of higher education because of a lack of money, financial assistance to poor and middle-class families is central for academic success.

“Prospective students should also apply as early as possible to ensure they do not miss the new application closing date which has been changed to 31st July 2019 for undergraduate study,” concluded Herman.

Students can go to the UCT website to apply.
