Several supposed details for the Pixel 3a leaked online

Later this month Google will host its annual I/O developer conference, with the firm focusing on some of the new software it has been working on of late. We’re also expecting to see a new piece of hardware, in the form of the rumoured Pixel 3a.

As with most forthcoming phone debuts, the leakers have beating most people to the punch.

To that end Droid Life has ‘stumbled’ across some images and specifications for the Pixel 3a, which for all intents and purposes looks to be a slightly down specced version of the Pixel 3 released last year.

There appears to be two models of the phone on offer, with a 5.6″ 3a and 6.0″ 3a XL, both sporting FullHD screens. In terms of the internal elements 4GB of RAM is listed for both models, as well as 64GB onboard storage.

As for the chipsets, it’s unclear if a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 or 670 CPU will be used, but the 3a is said to have a 3 000mAh battery and 3a XL fitted with a larger 3 700mAh offering.

Shifting to the cameras, which has been a hallmark of the Google Pixel lineup, the 3a and 3a XL are believed to have a single 12MP lens on the back and 8MP one up front. As such we’re assuming that there is a lot of help from Google on the software side to ensure pictures are up to snuff.

Lastly price and availability. While there’s no confirmation of the latter, the Pixel 3a is expected to cost $399 Stateside, and the larger 3a XL around $479.

As with all Google Pixel hardware to date, there’s little no chance that either of the new phones will land locally. Still things could change, so we’ll have to wait for Google I/O for the full beans to be spilled.
