Rush and Geekfest are joining forces for one massive con

Here’s a bit of interesting news for the geeks and nerds of South Africa – esports festival Rush, is partnering up with geek festival Geekfest.

We told you it was interesting.

The two events will be joining forces and it sounds like a good idea especially when you consider the two events are rather niche.

“Rush is excited to be collaborating with GeekFest. The audience that comes to Rush will definitely find something interesting at GeekFest, and in the same way, those pop culture enthusiasts that come to GeekFest will be excited to experience a variety of live esports events all under one roof,” senior project manager for Rush, Micheal James

Geekfest’s Richard Harman is similarly excited about the prospect of joining forces with Rush.

“GeekFest is proud to announce our partnership with Rush this year. We truly believe the synergy will bring a whole new dynamic to both events and cater to all fans of Geekdom,” Harman said.

The event – which will simply be known as Rush 2019 – is set to take place from 28th June through to 30th June at the Sun Arena in Time Square, Pretoria.

Tickets will cost R120 for a day pass, R300 for a weekend pass and R250 for a player pass.

Speaking of players, details regarding which titles will feature at Rush 2019 are unclear at this stage. The organisers have told us that details about esports will be provided on 17th May.

Tickets for Rush 2019 are available now through Ticket Pro.
