Sekiro continues the time-honoured tradition of modding Shrek into games

One of the first real challenges in Sekiro is an enemy known as the Chained Ogre which, while not a boss, is still a big hurdle to overcome early in the game. So what if you could make that fight more entertaining (or humiliating) by turning said ogre into the most famous ogre ever in Shrek?

The modding community – specifically users Dropoff and Katalash Nexus Mods – added Shrek into the game just yesterday and you can download it for free right now.

The description is laughably sparse: “Replacement of ogre model with a Shrek model”, but a great video and some screenshots more than convey what is going on here.

The only off thing here, aside from Shrek being in Sekiro in the first place, is Shrek’s rather long legs to match up with the mesh of the Chained Ogre. In our opinion it only adds to the fun.

While the example video showing this mod off (embedded below) uses a rendition of “I’m a Believer” for the music, we have to point you in the direction of an alternate one created by Lance McDonald on Twitter.

His version not only uses the Smash Mouth’s All Star for the backing track, but it also shows off a bit more of the mod in action.

The last time we were so excited over a Shrek mod was when he was used as a replacement for a Hinox in the unofficial PC port of Breath of the Wild.
