FlySafair’s website inaccessible as R5 sale goes live

Every year FlySafair hosts a crazy sale where tickets on the airline are discounted to ridiculous rates.

This year the same holds true with tickets currently setting folks back R5. That is, if they are able to access the website.

Ahead of the sale this morning the FlySafair waiting room is inaccessible with Hypertext getting nothing but a 504 error.

Having experienced a few 504 errors of our own, the error occurs when a server isn’t able to respond to a request from the visitor. In this case the site refuses to load at all.

We’ve contacted FlySafair’s public relations team to find out more about the outage and when customers can expect the site to be accessible. We were pointed to the Facebook post below.

Not having any luck on the website we contacted the FlySafair contact centre. We were told that some customers have been able to load the website but the website “is not allowing more people to visit it right now”.

Speaking to a manager at the FlySafair contact centre we were told that customers in the waiting room should remain there as they will be randomly selected to purchase tickets.

Those getting a 504 or similar error should continue trying to access the FlySafair website.

FlySafair apologises to customers for the inconvenience.

It’s a pity, we were really expecting this sale to take off.
