Where to find the results of the South African Elections 2019

South Africans are waking up after a day of voting but it appears as if the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has been counting our votes throughout the night.

The IEC reports that 64.56 percent of registered voters turned up to make their mark yesterday.

At time of writing just over 21 percent of the votes had been counted and if you’re curious about the split so far, the IEC has you covered.

Head over to the IEC website and you will be redirected to the Results Dashboard which gives you a fantastic breakdown of the votes counted thus far.

South Africans can also make use of the IEC South Africa app for Apple iOS and Android devices. The app is free to download and use.

Voting day was not without it’s controversies, however. The ink used to mark the thumbs of voters is rather easy to remove. The IEC has said it will be looking into this but several parties have complained saying the ink made it possible for folks to vote twice, EWN reports.

At time of writing the ANC, DA and EFF have the most votes with 54.71 percent, 26.41 percent and 7.98 percent of the counted votes respectively.
