Skyworth is bringing its AI TVs to South Africa

We’re not going to be the ones to tell you should be using Google Assistant, Alexa or Siri, but we will tell you that we love using them.

There is something quite fun about telling your handset to do something and have it done by a faceless British person, or whatever accent you prefer.

Now Skyworth is bringing that functionality to its TVs and those units specifically destined for local shores.

“What we’re offering is the first of its kind in South Africa. SKYWORTH’s launch of AI TV proves what we as a brand set out to achieve; to always be leaders in innovation. We were the first brand to bring Android TV to South Africa, so it was a natural progression for us to be the first brand to bring AI TV to the country too,” key account manager for Skyworth, Jaco Joubert, said in a statement.

The full range of Skyworth AI TVs follows below.

  • S9: OLED TV
  • Q3C: UHD TV
  • Q20: UHD TV
  • E20: FHD KTV (the “K” means karaoke)

All of the models support voice controls. The flagship amongst those models is the S9 OLED TV which features a Performance Qualification Processor so that your TV puts out the best image possible.

“It uses AI technology to search, recognise and reconstruct image objects, therefore improving the picture quality precisely,” explains Joubert.

The new Skyworth AI TVs are available right now from Pick n Pay, with availability from Makro due in July.
