Innovation Hub offering free registration for this week’s IASP workshop

The Innovation Hub has confirmed that it will provide free registration for the 2019 International Association of Science Parks (IASP) Africa Division Workshop, which will take place on 23rd and 24th May in Tshwane.

According to IT Web, this workshop is part of a series of build-up events that are taking place globally, leading up to the main IASP Conference to be held on the 23rd to 29th September in Nantes, France.

“The Innovation Hub has been overwhelmed by requests for attendance by entrepreneurs, students, IT professionals and other key stakeholders. However the challenge was that many of these attendees are young entrepreneurs or students that could not afford the fee, but so desperately want the knowledge and skills the workshop has to offer,” explained head of marketing and communications, Matona Ntshona Sakupwanya.

Furthermore IT Web notes that the aim of the workshop is to challenge practitioners from the continent to consider the economic development capacity of science and technology parks, areas of innovation and technology based incubators, academia, the public and private sector.

“Through this workshop, The Innovation Hub further strengthens its position in the role it plays in creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the technology and innovation spaces to thrive,” added Sakupwanya.

The publication adds that IASP has a worldwide network of science parks and innovation areas, that have over 388 members in 77 countries that represent numerous sectors, including Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, North America, West America, West Asia and North Africa.

Prospective attendees can register for free here.
