E3 2019 is happening later this month, and prior to the event some developers and manufacturers are teasing upcoming titles or projects. This latest one from Microsoft, however, may be the weirdest one yet, with the company partnering with Lynx to launch a lineup of Xbox-themed toiletries.
Had we seen this a couple of months ago, we would have placed it in the April Fool’s category, but it looks Microsoft is indeed making body wash and spray-on / roll-on deodorant specifically designed for Xbox gamers.
If you’re wondering what the Xbox range smells like, as Gamespot also pondered, a Microsoft spokesperson reached out to the site and offered up the following description.
“Lynx Xbox is a fresh scent of pulsing green citrus, featuring top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood. Containing a range of natural essential oils, the Xbox Lynx range comes with a sleek new look and features a body spray, deodorant, and shower gel,” their spokesperson explained.
If that combination sounds good to you, the likelihood of the Lynx Xbox range being available in South Africa are slim, especially as the brand is better known as Axe in South Africa.
Nevertheless we can certainly chalk this latest offering up to a marketing team who had a few too many energy drinks during a strategy meeting.
The best reaction to this creation comes from the “father” of the Xbox, Seamus Blackley, summing up our feeling about Xbox Lynx perfectly.
I seriously and honestly have no comment. I have no idea what a comment would even be on this. I’m frankly thinking of just going and drinking heavily at this point. https://t.co/hWZVyEHXjh
