Final Fantasy VII Remake arrives on the PS4 next year March

Great news for all game fanatics of Final Fantasy franchise, as Square Enix confirmed at E3 over the weekend that its highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake, will be available on the PlayStation 4 from 3rd March 2020.

With the Remake initially teased in 2015, and gameplay footage arriving a few weeks ago, the project is almost about to come full circle after what feels like an age of development.

For those unfamiliar with the game it tells a story of a world fallen under the control of the Shina Electric Power Company, which controls the planet’s life force, known as marko energy.

The setting for the game is the city of Midgar, which is sprawling out of control as an anti-Shrina organisation calling themselves Avalanche step up the resistance. Fan favourite Cloud Strife has featured heavily in the trailers for the Remake to date, with he and his massive Buster Sword also making appearances in the trailer below.

Developers Square Enix add that the game features new key art to the infamous villain of the piece, Sephiroth, with his actions set against a burning Midgar skyline.

With less than 12 months to go before Final Fantasy VII Remake finally hits PS4 consoles in 2020, we’re hoping Square Enix is planning more than just the improved visuals for the game, and has a few surprises or easter eggs in store for fans.

This especially as Final Fantasy is one of the gaming franchises which has helped build the Square Enix brand.

Despite Sony not having a PlayStation press conference at E3 this year, it’s clear that some exclusive titles are still getting their time to shine in Los Angeles this week.

Hit play on the trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake below and see what they’ve been up to for the past three and half years.
