Master Chief revived for 2020 release of Halo Infinite

Microsoft held its Xbox press conference for E3 2019 over the weekend, and as expected the firm called on its big guns for the event. Namely a nearly six-minute long trailer for Halo Infinite, with the franchise hero returning for this latest iteration.

We caught a glimpse of Master Chief in the teaser trailer for Halo Infinite last year, but now we get to see how he figures into the storyline in this title. From what we can tell in the trailer below, our favourite spartan has been on ice for some time and, when he’s brought back from the brink, it’s to a world where humanity lost.

In his usual Master Chief spirit though, he’s up for the fight.

That’s about all the detail that developer 343 Industries is willing to share for the moment on this Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive title, with the release date set for the 2020 festive season, which coincides with Microsoft’s Project Scarlett console launch.

That new piece of hardware will hopefully make the most of the new Slipspace Engine that has been created for Halo Infinite. As for when we’ll get more information on this title, some gameplay is likely in the offing for next year’s E3.

For now hit play on the trailer after the break and enjoy.
