Instax Mini LiPlay now available to purchase in SA for R2499

Fresh from being unveiled globally last week, Fujifilm’s new Instax Mini LiPlay camera has now arrived on South African shores, with the company unveiling it alongside the opening of their PrintLife Exhibition in Sandton City earlier today.

The new Instax camera is the company’s smallest and lightest to date, tipping the scales at 255 grams and fitting far better in your bag, purse or pocket.

The other new feature on the LiPlay is the ability to record audio and “attach” it to photo prints via QR codes.

“As with any instax camera, users can snap and print photos directly from the camera. However, the mini LiPlay connects via an app to smartphones, with users then able to print any photo stored on that device. With this feature instax brings together the best of its hybrid cameras, such as the SQUARE SQ20, and its portable smartphone printers, such as the SHARE SP-3,” the company explained in a press release about the LiPlay’s local launch.

The LiPlay is already on show at the PrintLife exhibition, and will officially go on sale at stores tomorrow, with it recommended to retail for R2 499. Requiring Fujifilm’s Instax Mini photo paper in order to print, with packs of 10 costing roughly R160 and packs of 20 about R300.

As for the new Instax camera it will be available to purchase in three different colour options – Stone Grey, Elegant Black and Blush Gold.

With Instax being one of Fujifilm’s best performing product ranges in recent years, it should be interesting to see if the LiPlay keeps that trend going.
